About the Close Family
Kev and Alicia Close are the proud owners of The Chop Shop Butchery’s three locations in Muswellbrook, Scone, and Denman. Their journey began with a desire for a better work life balance after Kev spent ten years in the mining industry. In 2016, they purchased the Muswellbrook store, followed by Denman 18 months later, growing their family business with a focus on quality, service, and innovation.
For Kev and Alicia, success is about more than profits. It is about supporting their employees, serving their customers, and giving back to the community they love.
Both long-term residents of the Upper Hunter, Kev and Alicia are committed to building a lasting legacy that blends family, community, and a passion for great Australian meat.

Life gets busy, so we make it simple to order online and pick up at a time that suits you. Click & Collect combines the convenience of online shopping with the personal service of your local butcher.
How it works
- Browse our range of fresh beef, lamb, pork, chicken, sausages, rissoles, and more.
- Place your order online before 4pm Monday to Friday.
- Choose your collection time.
- Pick up the next day between 2.00pm – 4.00pm (Contact us if you need a different time.)
Delivery
Place your delivery order before 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, and receive it the next day between 12.00pm – 4.00pm. Delivery is available to select areas only. Weekend delivery is available by arrangement.
In-store ordering
Orders can also be placed directly in-store for next-day delivery.
